Hot Dog of the Game: Bills at Raiders

The Dog: The “Ham Steak ‘n Eggs” Dog

Early on the casinos of Las Vegas subsidized foods to keep folks staying inside the casino and getting back on the gaming floor quicker. A lot of these were aimed at the third shift and late night or very early morning when dining options were limited. The ham steak and eggs were just one of these cheap, fast meals. So today we’re drawing on that to make… breakfast on a hot dog. The dog itself stands in for the ham steak, we add scrambled eggs on top (I think it eats better with scrambled eggs verses trying to add a fried egg) shredded cheese, potato stix for hash brown potatoes and chives to top it all off. Let’s go!

2 each Split Top Bun

2 each Wardynski’s All-Natural Hot Dog

2 eggs Soft Scrambled

~1 oz. Potato Stix

Pinch of Chives

Preparation

Crack two large eggs and whisk together with salt, fresh cracked black pepper and a splash of milk. Place sauté pan on medium high heat and add oil or butter. Once shimmering, add the egg mixture. Stir continuously to desired doneness. Set aside on low or warm setting.

Set your air fryer to 325* and preheat. Coat basket with pan spray or use a parchment paper liner. Cook for 8-10 minutes, turning halfway through cooking.

While the hot dog cooks, lightly dampen a paper towel. Wrap the paper towel around the hot dog bun. Microwave for 10-12 seconds.

Assembly: Place hot dog into steamed bun. Spoon 1 ounce of soft scrambled eggs along the hot dog. Sprinkle potato stix and chives over top to finish.

Enjoy and GO BILLS!
